My name is André Gibel and I live in a village in the canton of Zuerich (Switzerland) next to Zug.

In my daily life I work as a Senior System Engineer for an IT Company.
My main focus is the Microsoft Cloud world (M365 / Azure). Before the System Center Suite and Exchange was the most important part in mit IT – life. In the last 3 years I was responsible for a lot of Exchange on-premises to the Cloud (Hybrid) migrations. Since the start of my “IT – life” in 1995 I was also fascinated by programming (most of the time scripting languages like vb-script at the beginning and later PowerShell – but also C# / .net – .net core). I always try to stay up to date with latest technologies and so I have a privat test environment (AD Domain – synced with Azure – Exchange 2016 in Hybrid szenario – event an Enterprise PKI – and all managed by MS Enpoint Management /Intune) where I can “play around” or prepare for new MS Certifications.

In my sparetime … or the time when I don’t have to work or try out new IT “things” in my lab … I enjoy to be in the nature.
Most of the time I’m running or make trips on my racing cycle. In the winter I like cross country skiing (most of the time skating but about 2 years ago I also started with “classic”). I also participate in running – duathlon and skating competitions.

I have a few friends around me with whom I can go for a run, a cycle trip (or even cycling holidays) or together we start at competitions and celebrate together (with a “Jägermeister” 😉 ) at the end of a race.

Next to all these activities I also enjoy drinking a glas of wine (or two) and have an apéro with friends or meet for a dinner with them.

Music is a very important part of my life. Since I was about 14 years old, my favorite band is Depeche Mode. All over the world I was at different concerts of them but also a lot of other bands. Also Swiss bands like “The Beauty of Gemina” or “Fiji“. Whenever possible I listen to different kind of music – but my favorite direction is “dark – wave” or “Depeche Mode – like” sound.
